Although originally from Boston, Massachusetts, I now make my home on beautiful Bowen Island off the coast of Vancouver, British Columbia.  I studied at Rhode Island School of Design and Kansas City Art Institute.

After working in house as designer and art director at several places, I opened my own studio, specializing in advertising, editorial, and children’s illustration. I’ve worked with publishers in the UK, US and Canada, and have over 20 children's books in print, ranging from whimsical topics to more realistic works, such as S Is For Spirit Bear – A British Columbia Alphabet; Escape from the Ice — Shackleton and The Endurance; and The Field Mouse and the Dinosaur Named Sue. One illustration from the latter book was recently chosen to represent South Dakota (where the dinosaur skeleton was discovered) for a traveling exhibit of book illustration representing the 50 states.

When not in the studio, I play bluegrass, old-timey and folk music on guitar, mandolin, button accordion and ukulele in a couple of local bands, and head up a disreputable lot of morris dancers who perform Welsh border dances at street fairs, pubs and other venues.
